Special Hobby Kit #72163. 1/72 scale. Nicely detailed model kit of the experimental swept-wing, rocket powered speedster for flight research on aerodynamics. Six testbeds of the D-558 were produced: (3) USAF/NACA, D-558-1 and (3) USN/NACA, D-558-2. The model kit uses injection molded plastic, resin parts and photo-etch details.
