Hawk Model Company was one of America's first injection-molded plastic model manufacturer. Hawk began by manufacturing a line of wood based aircraft models and introduced a built and painted plastic model at the Chicago World's Fair in 1934. Full manufacturing of a plastic (acetate) molded model kit began in 1946 with the release of their Curtiss R3C-1 racer.
