Guide for Plastic Models) in the past have included listings
for all types of kits, the "PAK-20" is specifically about Plastic Aircraft Kits (the
"PAK" in PAK-20) of the 20th Century
(the "20" in PAK-20). I use it several times a day, as I'm
always getting asked variations of "who produced what kit
of what plane in what scale". This book has those answers. The first
part of the book has a listing of real (1/1 Scale) INTERNATIONAL
aircraft manufacturers (Boeing, Hawker, Nakajima, Ilyushin, etc.) from
the Wright Flyer to the present,
and what kits were produced of a particular plane. Example: Look
up Grumman or Blackburn or Nakajima and then look up a specifc plane
(Wildcat or Skua or Rufe) and it'll list all the kits produced (and
scales) of that plane.
The second part of this
(HUGE) book is a listing by model kit manufacturers (from the 1940s to
2000), with company info, lots of kit box
art and relative prices and values. While John's books are very
comprehensive, but there's always new information being uncovered, so
he has produced updates to the material from 2000 - 2007. Which brings
us to
